Our Boranup Forest wedding was perfect

Boranup Forest elopement

Thank you Anita for being involved in our perfect day.

You helped make our ceremony feel so special and intimate but also very light hearted and relaxed. Thanks for making it so easy to personalise our vows and include our little girl in the ceremony with us.

We will always look back and feel so content with the way we decided to elope. It was very natural and romantic and we were so happy that you could be a part of it.

Thanks again,

Pierra and Emmett,

Forest weddings in and around Margaret River

Yes, Margaret River is famous for our pristine beaches and world-class wineries, but another drawcard is the plethora of beautiful forests in and around the region.

Whether native bushland or stunning towering trees, every forest has its own character that connects with different people in different way.

Here are some of my favourite forests in and around Margaret River.

Boranup Forest

Situated on Caves Rd, just 15 minutes south of Margaret River, this is one place that I love in particular. (As do many couples!)

With its magestic karri trees as far as the eye can see, this forest is humbling, awe-inspiring, and a time thief!

Standing at its edge, you’ll think “I’ll just wander down this path for a couple of minutes,” but what ends up happening is that you quickly fall under the forest’s spell and easily wander for hours.

“Old Kate” forest and walking path

On the surface, it appears this area is simply a parking lot with toilets, picnic tables and a playground. Delve deeper and you’ll find excellent trails that lead to waterways and pools in the forest. There is even a deck extending over one of the pools if you look hard enough 😉

“Rails to Trails” from Cowaramup to Margaret River

This is a 14km trail that follows the old railway track to Margaret River. It’s a path that I walk once or twice a week to get back in touch with nature, and to re-charge my connection to the important things in life.

cycling and hiking trail margaret river

It is a popular trail for cyclists, bush-walkers, horse-riders and hikers, but there are many quiet pockets where you could set up for your ceremony without fear of being photo-bombed or annoyed.

To book a forest location for your wedding, you need to follow the same protocol as if booking a park or beach. Contact the relevant Shire for an application form. Details here.

As I conduct more weddings in more forests, I’ll keep updating this page… So, stay tuned!

Best,
Anita Revel
