Pop-Up Same Sex Wedding Festival

in the Margaret River Region.
Date TBA — pending Malcolm Turnbull pulling his finger out! ;-P

It’s a celebration of YES and equal rights in Australia. Now you can start planning your wedding and get married in this pop-up wedding day planned for the near future, when same sex couples can legally marry!

I’ve created this day for couples wishing to marry at the earliest opportunity once the Marriage Act has been updated. Simply register your interest below, and when the time comes to get the paperwork happening, I will be in touch.

This Pop Up Same Sex Wedding Festival is the chance for couples to marry in a simple ceremony in a private forest location in the Margaret River Region. The date is dependent on new legislation being passed to legalise same sex marriage in Australia, but in the meantime, let’s be prepared! Simply register your interest (below), and when I have the legal documents we need from the government, we can hit the green light and lodge your paperwork from Day One.

In theory, your wedding day should happen one month from the Attorney General issuing relevant documents to Celebrants Australia-wide.

(PS Once this festival is done, I shall revert to calling it what I’ve always called the legal union between two people in love: MARRIAGE. But for this occasion, this festival is designed to celebrate a turning point in Australia’s history and the celebration of a hard-fought battle by same sex couples and their families and supporters.)

And the sorry answer is that yes, in order for your marriage to be valid, I do need to state the definition of marriage prior to you exchanging vows. But there is something we can do about that…
