I was stoked to read that I was awarded best female Celebrant in the entire state (third overall, behind two male Celebrants), in the ABIA Awards 2019.
Not just Perth. Not just Margaret River.
But the WHOLE OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA.
I’ve been a career Celebrant for twelve years now, and can honestly say it was the best life-decision I ever made.
I was quite young when I started, (definitely the youngest on the scene at the time, anyway), so was a bit apprehensive — what did this young, modern, happy-go-lucky, relaxed-approach Celebrant think she was doing?
I was filling a niche in the market, that’s what!
Sure there is room for one-size-fits-all ceremonies, but I wanted more than that for my couples.
I wanted ceremonies to be about celebration.
I wanted the pompous and overly-wrought formalities to be put aside.
I wanted to make room for warm and heartfelt and genuine and yummy and funny (in places) ceremonies that were a true reflection of each couple’s values.
And if your vibe attracts your tribe, then thank you to all the beautiful, open-hearted, warm, smiley-eyed, generous and authentic couples that trusted me, and chose me, to facilitate one of the most important transitions of their lives.
You guys make my “job” so FUN, and rewarding, and meaningful. Thank you!
It’s a strategy that has paid off. Not only have I married some of the most cruisey, fun and down-to-earth couples, I’ve married them in some unique, incredible and hidden places that I would never have discovered otherwise.
What a blessed woman I am.
