Mile-high wedding will fit tight budget

As reported in the Augusta Margaret Times, January 2011…

in the news: the mile-high wedding club

Couples looking for a glamorous, adventurous way to say “I do” should look no further than a new wedding service offering the chance to get married while flying over Margaret River.

Mile-High Wedding is the brainchild of local celebrant Anita Revel, who wanted to create a memorable wedding ceremony without the expensive price tag.

The couple would board a private charter plane and be led through their vows by an experienced marriage celebrant as the pilot gives a bird’s eye view over the area’s magnificent coastline.

The package includes a 45 minute flight before the happy couple is dropped off at a local winery and chauffeured to their first meal as husband and wife.

There is also room for one witness to attend.

“I’ve spoken to many brides who want a memorable wedding day but can’t afford the $40,000 to put on a grand ceremony and reception,” Ms Revel said. “When I suggest they can have a fun, glamorous and exciting day for less than $3000 they get very excited – especially when I mention that the pilot is at their command and they can land at a local winery to experience an exquisite first meal together as husband and wife.”

Ms Revel said she had several enquiries within the first three days of building the webpage.
